Appointed to deliver the concept design and strategic masterplan for a new multi-storey academic building accommodating graduate and postgraduate teaching, specialist laboratories, research facilities, lecture halls, offices, an auditorium, exhibition space and student amenities.

  • Academic facility and anchor for future campus development, with form, massing and circulation encouraging learning and interaction beyond the classroom.

  • Landscaped central courtyard with naturally lit circulation galleries maximising daylight, natural ventilation and visual connections between departments.

  • Shaded ground-level public realm, elevated auditorium and accessible roof terrace creating a continuous sequence of communal spaces aligned with the campus's central water feature.

  • Roof terrace accessible beyond teaching hours for wider campus use.

  • Climate-responsive design through orientation, passive environmental principles and carefully considered massing.

  • Horizontal teaching and communal spaces with deep projecting balconies contrasted by compact vertical laboratory volumes, establishing a clear architectural hierarchy.

  • Deep overhangs, stepped terraces, solar screening and the roof terrace's northern position reducing solar heat gain and creating comfortable outdoor environments.

  • Project completed mid 2026, with the original concept and design intent clearly evident in the realised building.
