About us
Stuart Cochlin is a UK-qualified architect and Founder and Principal of Studio U | Stuart Cochlin Architects, established in Cambodia in 2007.
He studied at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design, Kingston School of Architecture, the Bartlett School of Architecture at University College London, before qualifying as an architect at the Westminster School of Architecture.
Before relocating to Cambodia, Stuart worked with leading architectural practices in London for several years. Experience across both the UK and Cambodia has shaped an architectural approach that responds thoughtfully to context, climate and culture. Today, he leads a boutique architectural practice, working closely with a dedicated team to deliver projects throughout Cambodia.
He is also Co-Director of the Giant Puppet Project in Siem Reap, Cambodia's largest community arts initiative for children
Architecture is never created in isolation. Successful projects emerge through collaboration between clients, consultants, craftspeople, builders and communities.
We have developed a trusted network of landscape designers, engineers, artists, furniture makers, metalworkers, graphic designers, branding specialists, sound and lighting consultants, curators, educators and other creative professionals. This collaborative approach allows us to assemble the right team for each project, drawing upon local knowledge, craftsmanship and expertise to create places that are thoughtful, engaging and grounded in their context.
